FAQs

What is the Enneagram?

This is such a big question. The Enneagram is a multi faceted personality profiling system. It’s origins are said to be rooted in ancient cultures. Having said that, f. It identifies nine different types of patterns in three centers. Each type has it’s own unique way of seeing the world,

How does mapping the challenge work?

Let me give you an example.  A client comes to me feeling overwhelmed with the idea that her co-worker doesn’t like her.  She thinks that she isn’t being treated the same as others and wonders what she can to do remedy this.

I ask the client if she is open to physically mapping her challenge?  She is.  We agree on the 3 important aspects that emerged.  They are; doubt, the co-worker and the client, who we’ll name Lex.  She writes each of these on a piece of paper and on the bottom draws an arrow.  The arrow indicates the front or face of the aspect and will allow Lex to show where each aspect is looking. From here, she intuitively places herself in the space around her and does the same for the other two pieces of paper. This shows the relationship between the 3 aspects.

Then, Lex would physically step onto the piece that has her name on it and share what she is experiencing in her body as well as what she notices about her relationships to the other parts. From there she’ll move to the other aspects and do the same thing.

What Lex learned from doing this is that her co-worker wasn’t even interested in her and that she made up a story about him because of this.  She was able to put closure on this part of the map by acknowledging this.

Lex, then was able to focus fully on her relationship with Doubt.  She realized that having doubt in front of her limited her ability to do things.  She tuned in and wanted to know what it would be like for doubt to be beside her.  This felt better. By tuning into her doubt, she realized that it was trying to help her be true to her.  She learned that when she listened to other people more than herself, it became louder.  This became a reminder to come back to herself and her own knowing.

I am hoping this gives you a sense of how mapping works.  For more clarity, please get in touch by clicking here.

Do I have to take the Enneagram assessment you offer?

What if I’m already aware of my Enneagram type?

If you already know and have a good understanding of yourself through the lens of the Enneagram, then we can move onto mapping your challenges. Before we do, let’s have a quick call to get on the same page.
